Importance of Grasp reflex in babies

In the early months of life there are many reflexes which ensure the wellness of the babies , among those is the grasp reflex , grasp reflex has an important significance . Here is some of pictures for grasp reflex .
Stimulus of grasp reflex
Grasp reflex stimulus is by placing the finger  of the doctor or the mother in the palm of the baby , the baby will grasp it .
Clinical significance of Grasp reflex 
There are 2 actions :
1- Is unilateral response , the baby here respond to the grasp reflex in one hand and do not respond in the other , this means neurological focal damage .
2- Persistence beyond the age of 4 months , and this indicates cerebral damage .
